Got a handlebar? A cactus? A ringmaster? Or, is it a pencil line, a Fu Manchu, a tooth brusher or a wooly mammoth? Whatever you’ve got, wax it up and come on down! It’s going to get pretty hairy at this mustache bash!
If you can’t grow one, paint one on, put one on a stick, or stick one on your lip. Some announced categories for the Southern California Mustache Championship include best natural, best styled, most creative, and most pathetic. There will also be some categories for artificial mustaches (i.e. painted on, on a stick, attached).
Costumes are not required, but encouraged. All ages/genders welcome. Free to enter and spectate. $250 in cash prizes. Prize money courtesy of the Long Beach Turkey Trot.
Register on-site. Meet on the boat launch ramp at 1 Granada Ave. when the 30-Minute Beach Cleanup ends at 10:30 a.m. on Sat., May 19. Mustache Contest begins about 10:35 a.m. If you are attending the beach cleanup, you can park for free at 1 Granada Ave.
