Long Beach Symphony Orchestra's "Vienna Nights" Featuring Tchaikovsky, Mahler and Wagner, at Terrace Theater

This Long Beach Symphony Orchestra concert begins with "Tristan und Isolde: Prelude & Liebestod," a story of unrequited longing that is musically conveyed through Wagner’s harmonic tensions.

Then comes Mahler’s delicate yet powerful "Ruckert Lieder" featuring mezzo-soprano Barbara Dever, whose voice has delighted audiences around the world. The concert closes with Tchaikovsky’s elegant yet electrifying "Symphony No. 4," filled with dramatic elements that reflect upon a tumultuous era in the composer’s life.
