Workshop for Restoring the Olympia Oyster to Alamitos Bay

The workshop will feature an introduction to the Olympia oyster restoration project underway at Jack Dunster Marine Reserve, as well as a how-to presentation on attracting oysters with shell strings by Dr. Danielle Zacherl. "Shellshocked", a documentary about the threat of extinction facing oyster reefs, will also be shown.

Designed for dock owners, volunteers and anyone intersted in learning about the ongoing restoration project, the series of workshops will continue with lessons on culling non-native species, counting oysters and preparing them for a new home in the restoration project's oyster beds.

The workshop is being held at the Sea Base Aquatic Center.
