To The Editor,
I am writing to say farewell to the city I loved. I am moving to the central coast area to manage two wine country lakes in partnership with Monterey County, and want to sincerely thank everyone who sent me letters, cards, e-mails and calls of support.
It is refreshing to work for a forward-thinking, private-sector company that sets operational objectives and then gets out of the way and lets managers manage to those objectives.

It is incredulous to me that this administration has appointed executive managers that do not live in the city; this would not have happened in prior administrations. It is disheartening to one who loved this city to witness how many talented managers with tremendous institutional knowledge have been pushed out of the city by this management.
There is a very important election coming up, and I hope that the candidates, and the voters, pay as much attention to how this city is managed as it does to the politics.

For the city I loved, I wish it well. For me, thanks for the memories.
