Free Water-Soluble Rocks & Installing a Minecraft Server

At the Sea Base in Long Beach, we've got some cool stuff happening TODAY! Sunday, November 11th.

A $5-$10 donation is suggested.  Last month we made enough for one Minecraft license to be installed on our new computers, donated by IBuyPower and monitors donated by Sceptre.

INSTALLING A MINECRAFT SERVER

If your child is crazy about video games and you want to take that interest and guide it gently towards the learning that you can do around video games, here is a great place to start.

Lowell Dad Burk Murray will be presenting a discussion and demonstration on How to Install a Minecraft Server, and options for hosting a server.

Not yet registered?  It's ok, bring your laptop with the Minecraft client already installed, your Minecraft login id, and your 11+ year old!

Fun starts at 2:00 PM.

NOVA COUNSELING
Scouts interested in counseling for NOVA and NOVA activities may come at 1:00 PM.  This is a scout-targeted session, but any may participate (boys and girls).

FREE WATER SOLUBLE ROCKS
I visited lovely Trona, CA for the Gem-O-Rama.  I will be sharing the videos that I took and we'll be doing demos with the water-soluble rocks.  You can take some samples home to clean, or clean them at the activity.

LEGO PLAY
Of course, we'll have out the LEGO donated by the LEGO Group community outreach and facilitated by community coordinator Kevin Hinkle and the Long Beach Adult Fans of LEGO group!

Sea Base Directions
5875 Appian Way, Long Beach, CA
Take 2nd Street towards the Belmont Shore area.
If headed West, as you go over the bridge that connects Naples to Belmont Shore, take the offramp to Appian Way.  Loop right, and continue on Appian Way.  Keep straight and make a left when it's legal.  You'll be entering the parking lot.  Left again, and you'll be driving towards the Sea Base.
If headed East, Exit 2nd Street onto Appian Way before you go over to the bridge.  Head right from the offramp, and enter the parking lot when you can make a left.
