A Gem of a Play: Opaline
Great performance art can happen anywhere. Last night, it was in a 30 seat theater in Long Beach.

The Garage Theater puts on an amazing show. It's only 30 seats strong, which doesn't bring in a lot of income. But then, at this theater it's not about the income.
It's about the passion for performance.

It's a first time production for the show, and it's in two cities. Long Beach, and New York. But it won't be its last time.
The story is well narrated by Allen Sewell, Dr. Hargraves Moss. The setting is the "fictitious village of Fenwich near the town of Ashbourne in the County of Derbyshire, England." Dr. Hargraves Moss' voice brings to life the scene.

I don't want to spoil the story for you, so I won't say much about the story itself.
The tiny space that is the garage theater was used in truly the most effective way. The audience is part of the scene. The dancers move around you - it's amazing that none tripped over my feet. The color green is everywhere, and you are, indeed, captured by the delirious story of a magical woman making a magical potion. Opaline is a play, a person, an addictive potion (brand of Absinthe), a color, incredible.
