Laundry Lock Out: A Dry Cleaning Story

What do you do when your laundry is on the other side of a landlord's dispute? Here's my true story.

Short Story:  J's Cleaners has opened a new location at the old Marina Cleaners location at 7th and Bellflower.

Long Story

It's been months since the day that I tried to pick up dry cleaning, only to find that the laundry I was trying to pick up was on the other side of a locked door - a door that was locked for an indefinite amount of time.  Um... the check's in the mail?

What does one do?

The door was papered over with black paper so I couldn't even see the dry cleaning. I was frustrated, to say the least.  The gal at the beauty store next door shook her head at the situation.  What happens next? I wondered...

I called the number and eventually (a few days later) someone called back.  "You can pick up your cleaning at J's Cleaners".

It's not far to J's Cleaners, which is in the 2nd and PCH shopping center near Trader Joe's.

Since then, I've become friends with the folks that work at J's.  I said goodbye last week as they'd told me that J's has opened a new location at the old Marina Cleaners location.

The racks are mostly empty.  Not for long, I'm sure.  The owner was staffing it herself, and we chatted.

Home again, home again, jiggedy jig!
