The League of Women Voters (Long Beach Area) will present a program that tackles many of the issues central to one of our most fundamental rights as Americans. We will examine the origin of the Voting Rights Act (VRA), what it does and why it is still relevant. We will also address the implications of the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down Section 4 of the VRA and discuss recent actions by some states to implement supressive voting laws.
This event is free of charge and open to the public.
