LEGO Easter Egg

Very cool LEGO egg with space inside for a diamond ring or a chocolate egg! Makes me think of turducken.

I'm a LEGO Fan, but I'm no Master Builder.  There, I said it.  I don't visualize exotic creations in my head and any progress I make is painstaking.

In many cases I have to seek out patterns from those who have gone before.

So it is I am seeking out Easter themed LEGO builds.

You can get the new Easter Bunny with carrot at the LEGO store (limit 5).  This one uses some nice parts in grey.  The price is $9.99.  Bunnies are nice builds, because they involve a fair amount of complexity.  I'm not ready to work on my own bunny yet.

I have a few Easter Bunny packs from a prior year, and LEGO has a few that I've never seen in real life.  Here's a brown bunny.  Here's a yellow bunny.  If you check the LEGO after-market, you can find Bunnies and Chicks.

Here's a very cute duck set.  Here's a Bunny and Chick set.

But my eye turns to Easter Eggs.  I only found one Easter Egg build and the instructions are woefully incomplete and fuzzy.

Still, the parts are called out and I could get most of the instructions by reading upside down and cross-eyed.

I've put it together in a video for you.  Hope you like it!

Most of the parts are available in some color or the other from the Pick A Brick wall.  The hardest parts to find were the hinges and the 1x6 LEGO plates.

To get you started, I'm putting the parts list below.  Because I am shape oriented and believe in varying the color according to my brick selection, I have summarized the parts by shape.  Check out the video and photos for instructions.  (Eventually I'll write them down, but that is another day).

I should add that there were no instructions for the center part of the egg, so I made it up.  I added a few parts as needed, so pick a few extra ones off of that wall if you can.
