Long Beach BBQ Festival All Things BBQ Aug. 16-18

If you like BBQ – and who doesn't really – then head over to Seaside Lagoon for the Sea Festival's three-day Long Beach BBQ Festival.

This is a feast all things BBQ: ribs, chicken, pulled pork and tri-tip. The event features a BBQ competition which includes traveling BBQ competitors Porky-N-Beans (famous for its pulled pork sandwich); Howling Coyote Southwest BBQ of St. Louis; Cowboy's Barbeque and Rib Co., of Texas; and Tennessee Q.

There are also bands, beer and wine and a play zone for kids.

It takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The hours are Friday: 5 p.m.-11 p.m.;  Saturday: Noon-11 p.m,; and Sunday: Noon-10 p.m.

It's at Rainbow Lagoon, downtown Long Beach (along Shoreline Drive across from Shoreline Village).

Cost is $13 with menu items ranging from $2-25. For $35 there's the Rib Feast which includes half a slab of pork ribs. You can also get an all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink (and that includes beer and wine) VIP pass for $75.
