Female Pedestrians Struck, One Killed, in LB Hit-Run
Their ages and names have not been released yet, but they were struck and killed downtown.

Two pedestrians were struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in downtown Long Beach today, and one of them died, said police who are seeking the public's help in identifying the driver.
Authorities were dispatched about 1:45 a.m. to Third Street and Pine Avenue, said Long Beach police Sgt. Aaron Eaton. A woman, whose name was withheld pending notification of her relatives, died at a hospital. A second person, whose age and gender were not released, was hospitalized with unspecified injuries, Eaton said.
According to the preliminary investigation, the victims were among a group of people when some type of altercation occurred, and they were hit by a vehicle that left the scene, Eaton said.

No description of the hit-and-run vehicle was immediately released. Anyone with more information about the case was urged to detectives at (562) 570-7244.
