Long Beach Man Sentenced to 12-Year Term to Robbing Pot Deliveryman

A deliveryman working for a Long Beach medical marijuana dispensary was robbed after the dispensary got a call requesting a home delivery.

A 24-year-old man who robbed a medical marijuana deliveryman in Long Beach was sentenced to 12 years in state prison Tuesday.

Desmond Lamar Pulliam pleaded no contest June 5 to a felony count of second-degree robbery and admitted using a gun during the commission of the March 12, 2014, crime.

The deliveryman was approached by Pulliam and another man, and a fight ensued before Pulliam and the second suspect -- who has not been identified -- fled the scene with the marijuana, the prosecutor said.

Pulliam was arrested by Long Beach police less than three weeks later and has remained in jail since then. He was sentenced Monday at the Long Beach courthouse.
