A 24-year-old man who robbed a medical marijuana deliveryman in Long Beach was sentenced to 12 years in state prison Tuesday.Desmond Lamar Pulliam pleaded no contest June 5 to a felony count of second-degree robbery and admitted using a gun during the commission of the March 12, 2014, crime.A deliveryman working for a Long Beach medical marijuana dispensary was robbed after the dispensary got a call requesting a home delivery, according to Deputy District Attorney Rachel Bodley.The deliveryman was approached by Pulliam and another man, and a fight ensued before Pulliam and the second suspect -- who has not been identified -- fled the scene with the marijuana, the prosecutor said.Pulliam was arrested by Long Beach police less than three weeks later and has remained in jail since then.
