Long Beach Teen Struck by Car on PCH Dies

A 15-year-old girl died from her injuries after she was hit by a vehicle driven by a 62-year-old Huntington Beach man on PCH.

A 15-year-old girl who was struck by a vehicle on Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach has died, police said.

Her name was not released, but Huntington Beach police officer J. Marlatt said she was from Long Beach.

It happened at 8:45 p.m. Saturday on northbound PCH near the traffic signal at the entrance of Bolsa Chica State Beach, between Goldenwest Street and Warner Avenue, Huntington Beach police Lt. Bo Svendsbo said.

When officers arrived, they found the girl lying in the roadwas, unresponsive. She was transported to Long Beach Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, Marlatt said in a news statement.

She was struck by a red 2014 Chevy Camaro driven by a 62-year-old Huntington Beach man.

He remained at the scene and answered officers’ questions before being released, Marlatt said. The incident remains under investigation.
