Man Suspected of Molesting Boy in Restaurant Bathroom Sought

The suspect was described as Hispanic or white, 20-30 years old, with a thin build, dark hair and a mustache.

Long Beach police on Tuesday sought public help to identify a man accused of inappropriately touching a child in the men’s restroom at a restaurant.

The victim, described only as being under 10 years old, was groped about 8 p.m. Sunday in the eatery near Pacific Coast Highway and Second Street, according to police. The name of the restaurant was not released.

Police released security images of the suspect, described as Hispanic or white, 20-30 years old, with a thin build, dark hair and a mustache. He was wearing a red hoodie sweatshirt, dark pants and a baseball cap.

Anyone recognizing the suspect was urged to call the Long Beach Police Department’s Sex Crimes unit at (562) 570-7354; or email the unit at LBPDSexCrimes@longbeach.gov; or call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.

However, anyone knowing the immediate whereabouts of the suspect should call 911, police said.
