Missing Man With Memory Loss Found In Long Beach
There's a happy ending to this story. But the first 24 hours are critical in locating a lost Alzheimer's patient.

An elderly man with Alzheimer's disease was found unharmed in Long Beach anywhere from nine to 11 miles away, within hours of being reported missing, police said today.
Luis Martinez, 84, who suffers high blood pressure and the degenerative loss of memory, wandered away from his Carson home in the 200 block of East 211th Street on Monday afternoon, Long Beach police spokeswoman Nancy Pratt said Wednesday.
Martinez was found Monday night near Ocean Boulevard and Pine Avenue and was reunited with his family, said Pratt although it was not disclosed how he was found, nor how he traveled the distance of approximately nine to 11 miles, depending on his route. It is an estimated 16 minute drive via freeways.
