Motorcyclist Killed on Palo Verde Avenue
A 25-year-old motorcyclist died in an accident on Palo Verde over the weekend.

A 25-year-old motorcyclist was killed when excessive speed caused him to lose control of his bike and collide with a sport utility vehicle, a police detective said today.
The biker, riding a 2013 Suzuki GSX-R motorcycle, was going southbound on Palo Verde Avenue, near Don Julio Street, when he drifted into the northbound lanes and struck a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, said Detective Steve Fox of the Long Beach Police Department.
Police were dispatched to the scene at 4:22 p.m. Saturday and paramedics rushed the motorcyclist to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries, Fox said.
