Pedestrian Killed by Car on Spring Street
A woman died sunday afternoon after being hit by a car on the 7900 block of East Spring Street.
A woman was struck by a vehicle and killed this afternoon in Long Beach, police said.
The victim was hit about 12:30 p.m. in the 7900 block of East Spring Street near Claremore Lane, said Officer Claudia Lopez of the Long Beach Police Department.
The woman was taken to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, Lopez said.

The driver of the vehicle that hit her stopped at the scene, she said.
The crash closed a stretch of Spring Street and the Spring Street offramp from the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, according to a report from the scene.
