Pet Whisperer to Sign New Book at Apostrophe during Belmont Shore Stroll and Savor on Wed., Aug 19

LB resident Terri Steuben, disaster responder and author of Tails of Triumph: Animals Tell Their Katrina Stories, to share preparedness tips

Terri Steuben, animal communicator and disaster responder with The Humane Society of the United States, will share emergency preparedness tips with pet owners and sign copies of her new book, Tails of Triumph: Animals Tell Their Katrina Stories, during the Belmont Shore Stroll and Savor on Wednesday, August 19, at 6-8 p.m. at Apostrophe Books, 5229 E. Second St.
The Humane Society sent Steuben to Louisiana in 2005 to help with the largest animal rescue operation in history. Her disaster response training and special ability to telepathically communicate with the animals made her a valuable member of the response team.
Steuben’s book is based on the journal she kept for the two weeks she freed trapped pets, found hidden cats and calmed aggressive dogs. Their survival stories show courage, determination and resourcefulness. Tails of Triumph also gives readers a glimpse of what life what like in the disaster zone for the professional and volunteer responders who came from all parts of the U.S. and Canada to help.
Tails of Triumph is currently available at www.TerriSteuben.com, Amazon, pet boutiques and independent bookstores.
About the Author: Terri Steuben is an animal communicator who has counseled pet owners around the world for more than two decades. Using her psychic abilities and practical experience, she helps people better understand their animals and solve behavior and health problems. She also locates lost pets, works with law enforcement officials in operations involving victimized animals and serves on response teams to keep animals safe in emergencies. She is the author of Secrets of a Pet Whisperer: Stop Telling Your Animals to Misbehave, a how-to book on communication that includes specific instructions on preparing for emergencies and helping your pets survive a disaster.
