Rogers' PTA to Host Its First Career Day

Speakers Thursday will include entrepreneurs, professionals in medicine, government and in the media.

More than 50 speakers from greater Long Beach, including many parents and members of the local business community, will participate this week in the first-ever, PTA-sponsored Career Day at Will Rogers Middle School.

Speaking will be professionals from the fields of medicine, local government, radio, television and the print media, as well as some entrepreneurs. They include City Auditor Laura Doud, K-JAZZ on-air personality Helen Borgers, and Dr. Connie Kaminsky, head of radiology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

The event takes place on Thursday, March 31, from 9 to 11:20 a.m., and will address students in grades six through eight in small group sessions. A post-event presentation will feature representatives from Long Beach Wilson and Poly High Schools, Long Beach City College, Long Beach State University and ITT Tech.
