Sea Festival's Craft Brew Festival Returns With Taste Of Brews

The Long Beach Sea Festival gets crafty with a craft beer festival, the third annual Taste of Brews, on Saturday, Aug. 24.

It takes place at Lighthouse Park from noon-4 p.m.

The Taste of Brews features craft beers like Stone, Golden Road, Karl Strauss, Sam Adams and Firestone.  Area breweries participating include Rock Bottom, Beachwood, Belmont, El Segundo, San Pedro and Strand Brewing Co.

The  growth of craft beer in the Inland Empire has lured several breweries from that area like Hangar 24, Wiens, Inland Empire, Craft Brewing and Packinghouse.

Gourmet food trucks include Viking Truck, Urban Pie, Tornado Potato, and Me So Hungry and restaurant samples from Slaters 50/50, Hooters, and Bubba Gump Shrimp Company.

The event also has food trucks – a good idea, indeed at a beer festival – and bands. There is a Journey cover band plus an 80s cover band on that organizers call the "Purple Revolver" state.

Tickets are $35for the 3-hour session (1pm to 4pm) and $45for the 4-hour session (noon to 4pm).  A limited number of general admission tickets are on-sale and include access to the park, concert and food trucks, and the Beer and Wine garden where attendees may purchase full glasses of beer or wine for an additional fee.

Attendees must be 21 or older.
