Signal Hill Man Sentenced to Life for 2 Murders 11 Years Apart
Jeffrey Keith Means was convicted of killing a Whittier man in 1996 and a Long Beach man in 2007.

A Signal Hill man was sentenced today to life in prison without the possibility of parole for a 1996 killing in Whittier and another in Long Beach about 11 years later.
Jeffrey Keith Means, 49, was convicted in July for the June 1996 killing of Hal Shaw and the December 2007 murder of Ronald Henry.
Means was arrested in January 2008 in the stabbing death of 67-year-old Henry in his Long Beach apartment.

In the investigation that led to Means, detectives learned of his involvement 11 years earlier in the slaying of Shaw, 48, in Whittier.
Means — a third striker — was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on one count of first-degree murder, and life in prison with the possibility of parole after 15 years on a count of second-degree murder.
