Teacher Charged With Sexual Assault Of Minor Pleads Not Guilty
The ex-Lakewood High School teacher was charged with 9 felony sex-related counts stemming from an alleged relationship with a female student

LONG BEACH, CA – Former Lakewood High School teacher Mary Jahn pleaded not guilty Wednesday to nine felony sex-related counts stemming from her alleged relationship with a female student. The 52-year-old Lakewood resident faces up to eight years and four months in state prison and lifetime sex offender registration if convicted of nine felony counts.
Deputy District Attorney Troy Davis said the alleged victim, now an adult, came forward earlier this year to allege that she and Jahn had a sexual relationship between July 2008 and July 2011, beginning when she was 15 years old.
Jahn worked as an English teacher at Lakewood High School from 2006 until May 11, when she was placed on leave at the outset of the investigation, according to the Long Beach Unified School District.
