Wilson, Poly, St. Anthony Score CIF Soccer Playoff Spots
The Bruins girls hope their Moore League title is just the beginning as they shoot for a CIF Division 2 title.

The Moore League championship was just a start for the Long Beach Wilson girls soccer team. The CIF playoff pairings announced Monday have the Bruins earning the No. 3 seed in Division 2, behind only Bay League champion Palos Verdes and Baseline League champ Rancho Cucamonga Los Osos.
Wilson will begin the playoffs at home in the first round, at 3 p.m. Thursday against the winner of Tuesday’s wild-card game between Simi Valley and Burbank.
Long Beach Poly’s girls team, which took third in the Moore League, plays a first-round game Thursday at Upland. Second round games in the division will be contested on Feb. 22.
The Poly boys team, the No. 4 entrant from the Moore League, earned a berth to the Division 1 playoffs. The Jackrabbits play a wild-card game on Wednesday at 3 PM at Simi Valley Royal. The winner will play at Almont League champion Montebello Schurr on Friday in the first round.

Also in boys’ action, St. Anthony will play in a Division 4 wild-card game on Wednesday. The Saints, an at-large entry from the Santa Fe League, play at California High in Whittier on Wednesday. The winner will advance to a first-round contest Friday at Cathedral.
Championships in all CIF Divisions will be held on March 4 or 5.
