Slideshow: Wilson High Presents Class Of 2012

Long Beach graduates celebrate their special night.

Thousands of family and friends cheered and hooted in the stands as 950 Wilson Bruins were awarded their high school diplomas Thursday evening. One of California's larger high schools, Wilson seniors earned a record $7 million in scholarships this year.

Long Beach Unified School District students also earned a total of $52.5 million in scholarships - another record. That is more than $1 million more than the 2010 historic high mark, said LBUSD spokesman Chris Eftychiou. (See our full story Saturday on scholarships).

To the graduating class of 2012, congratulations.
