13 Grams Of Meth Discovered In Benicia Traffic Stop: Police

Breaking: Benicia police say they initially stopped the 63-year-old suspect for an alleged traffic violation.

BENICIA, CA -- A traffic stop this week in Benicia led to a man's arrest after he was allegedly found in possession of 13 grams of crystal methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia, according to police.

On Monday, a Benicia police officer stopped 63-year-old Clearlake resident Joseph Bonilla for an alleged traffic violation, at which time it was learned Bonilla had a suspended driver's license, according to a statement from the Benicia Police Department.

"...During our conversation with him he admitted to being in possession of illegal narcotics," police said. "Inside Mr. Bonilla’s car officers found 13 grams of crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia."

Bonilla was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs for sale and was booked into jail, according to the statement.
