2 Deaths In Benicia Home Investigated

Benicia officers responded to a report of suspicious deaths and found two people dead, police said.

BENICIA, CA — Two people were found dead inside a Benicia home Saturday.

Officers responded around 11:45 a.m. Saturday to a report of suspicious deaths in the 400 block of East E Street — near East 5th Street — and found the people dead from gunshot wounds, according to a statement from the Benicia Police Department.

The preliminary investigation indicated one person shot the other, then turned the gun on themself, police said Saturday on Facebook.

However, police said, detectives were still investigating the deaths.

There was no danger to the community, police said.

"Due to the nature of the case, we are not releasing more information at this point," Benicia police said.
