3 Benicia Schools On Brief Lockdown After Threats

BREAKING: The student , who is suspected of making the threats. was taken into custody.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA – Benicia police briefly locked down Benicia High School as a precaution in response to a threat this morning, a police dispatcher said.

The lockdown began at 9:48 a.m. and was lifted at 10:55 a.m., Benicia Unified School District superintendent Charles Young said.

As a precaution, a nearby middle school and elementary school also were briefly locked down, Young said.

"A precautionary lockdown at BHS and surrounding schools has been lifted," the Benicia agency said. "There is no threat to students."

The alleged threat came in just before 10 a.m. to Benicia police from a student, officials said. The student was taken into custody.

Police are following up on information regarding the threat, Young said.

The high school is located at 1101 Military W. in Benicia.
