VALLEJO, CA — Three people were found dead early Tuesday in a Vallejo home in what police said appeared to be a domestic violence-related double-murder suicide. Police responded just after midnight Tuesday to the 1800 block of Vervais Avenue when a 12-year-old girl found her mother and her sister in the living room, suffering from gunshot wounds, Vallejo police Capt. Jason Potts said.

"Based on the preliminary investigation, Vallejo police detectives believe that suspect Raymond Thomas Jackson, a 50-year old Vallejo resident, shot his domestic partner with a shotgun and then shot and killed her 14-year-old daughter before turning the weapon on himself," Potts said.

The 12-year-old girl told police she had brief contact with Jackson before she escaped the home to call 911. The girl ran to a neighbor's house for help, Potts said.

Once the residence was deemed safe to enter, paramedics went inside and pronounced the woman, her daughter and Jackson deceased, Potts said.

"It's tragic," Potts told Bay City News Service.

The Solano County Coroner's Office will released the identities of the victims after next of kin have been notified.

According to Vallejo police, Jackson had been convicted of several crimes, including drug sales, assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, and driving under the influence. Jackson was also arrested March 8 on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic violence, and was prohibited from lawfully having a gun, Potts said.

"This incident is an ongoing investigation," Potts said.
