32 BHS Band Students Perform with Solano County Honor Band

Solano County Honor Band
January 7th - 11th
Thirty-two students from Benicia High School participated in the 57th Solano County High School Honor Band January 7th – 11th. The honor band was led by guest conductor, Dr. Martin H. Seggelke, a music faculty member at the School of Music at Illinois State University.
Rehearsing over a three day period, the band concluded with a concert on Sunday at the Vacaville Performing Arts Theater. Three works were performed; the first selection, Di Druiden – I Nemeton by Rolf Rudin, was performed for the first time in California at that concert.
Of all the participating high schools, Benicia High School had the highest student representation in the 107 member honor band. Selection for participation in the band was by audition.
