A Ship on the Strait

The Eser K, an Aframax tanker owned by Kaptangolu Holdings, a Turkish shipping company, is named after the youngest daughter of Kaptangolu's president Engin Kaptanoglu.

The Eser K was built in Subic Bay in the Philippines by the Hanjin Heavy Industries Corp. at a reported cost of $68 million.

Draft: 21.35 meters 

Weight: 63,304 tons

The Eser K delivered a load of crude oil to the Valero Benicia refinery and left port on Monday May 23, 2011.
