VALLEJO, CA — A Vallejo man was arrested in July on suspicion of firearms crimes and was federally charged this week, U.S. Attorney Eric Grant announced.
Hazem Naim Awad, 42, was allegedly discovered in a public storage facility in Vallejo by Solano County Sheriff's deputies on July 27.
Deputies allege they found two firearms in his car, both of which were loaded and chambered with ammunition. One of the guns was allegedly stolen.
As a felon, Awad is barred from being in possession of firearms and ammunition.
If convicted, Awad is facing up to 15 years in federal prison and a fine of $250,000.
