You can browse old photos, learn about local railroad history, meet authors, and hear about the planned Caboose Restoration Project at the historic depot. It's a hands-on way to explore Benicia's past while enjoying the market.
• Suspect arrested in San Jose for 2025 murders of former El Cerrito, Fairfield high school football players (contracostaherald.com) — A suspect has been arrested in San Jose in connection with two 2025 murders, including the killing of Guardian Harper, a former Benicia and El Cerrito High School football player. Fairfield and Contra Costa County authorities link the man to shootings in Fairfield and Bay Point, and he's now jailed in Solano County on a murder charge. The case brings renewed attention to a young athlete with ties to Benicia's football community.
