• August 27 A-E Source: History comes alive at Benicia History Corner (fresnobee.com) — Benicia's Museum of History and Historical Society are teaming up for a monthly "History Corner" booth at the Benicia Farmers Market, running through October on First Street. You can browse old photos, learn about local railroad history, meet authors, and hear about the planned Caboose Restoration Project at the historic depot. • Suspect arrested in San Jose for 2025 murders of former El Cerrito, Fairfield high school football players (contracostaherald.com) — A suspect has been arrested in San Jose in connection with two 2025 murders, including the killing of Guardian Harper, a former Benicia and El Cerrito High School football player. Fairfield and Contra Costa County authorities link the man to shootings in Fairfield and Bay Point, and he's now jailed in Solano County on a murder charge.
