VALLEJO, CA — A Vallejo man was convicted of a March shooting and robbery, the Solano County Sheriff's Office said Saturday.
On March 27, officers were sent to the 1100 block of Oakwood Avenue in Vallejo on a report of a shooting. Police officers and deputies arrived and found a person suffering from two gunshot wounds. They were taken to the hospital and survived.
Detectives identified the shooter as Jacob Santos, 26, and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
On April 15, Santos was spotted in the parking lot of a business in the 1700 block of Tuolumne Street in Vallejo, where he was found with a loaded, unregistered handgun in his waistband. The gun was tied to the March shooting.
On Wednesday, Santos was convicted of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, attempted residential robbery and shooting into an inhabited dwelling.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 16.
