Arrest Made In North Bay Back Alley Murder Case

Vallejo police have arrested a man who's believed to be responsible for the January shooting death of a 20-year old Vacaville man.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- Vallejo police on Thursday arrested a man who they believe is responsible for the shooting death of a 20-year old man in January.

Jason Castro, 28, of Vallejo, allegedly killed Noe Gomez of Vacaville in an alley in the 500 block of Tuolumne Street on Jan. 20, according to police.

Police resounded to the area at about 7:10 p.m. after getting a report about shots being fired. Officers found evidence of the shooting but didn't find a suspect or a victim.

Within minutes of the shooting, however, Gomez arrived at the Sutter Solano Hospital in a private vehicle and later died.

Police subsequently identified Castro as a suspect and officers arrested him at about 4 p.m. Thursday while he was riding in a car near Lincoln Road East and Humboldt Street.
