Artwork Chosen for Next BEF “Run for Education” Shirt
This year, the artwork is a family affair.
The Benicia Education Foundation had some trouble choosing the artwork for annual “Run for Education”. A five-judge panel tasked with choosing the artwork from among the many entries submitted by community members.
The narrowed the choices down but were having trouble choosing when they realized that three of their top choices were entered by members of the same family.
“They liked aspects of each one and when they realized they were all from one family, they decided to choose them all,” said Teresa Zabrek who coordinates the run.

The art was created by Thelma Bentley and her two children, Teddi and James who are students at Joe Henderson Elementary School.
“Alison Williams is out graphic designer and she’ll use elements from all three entries on the shirt,” said Zabrek
