Benicia Cops Nab East Bay Man In Stolen U-Haul Truck

Police on patrol at the Parkway Plaza shopping center arrested an East Bay man after he was found driving a stolen U-Haul truck.

BENICIA, CA -- An East Bay man was hauled to jail recently after being found in illegal possession of a U-Haul truck at local mall.

Officers on patrol at the Parkway Plaza shopping center in Benicia arrested a man Friday, Feb. 24 after officers found him driving the stolen moving truck, police said. The truck can be seen in the second photo above.

An officer spotted the stolen truck while patrolling the shopping center, located at 2000 Columbus Parkway, according to police.

The driver of the truck exited the vehicle and tried to flee, but was quickly apprehended and then identified as 27-year-old Michael Clancy. He's a resident of Antioch, which happens to be the same city that the U-Haul was reported stolen in.

Clancy can be seen in the first photo above being arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft.
