Benicia Hotel Clerk's Tip Leads To Double Arrest

The duo reportedly checked in using a fraudulent credit card, police said.

BENICIA, CA – After a call to police from a Benicia hotel clerk, two Bay Area individuals were arrested over the weekend after they reportedly checked into a room using a fraudulent credit card, authorities said.

Law enforcement, investigating the hotel employee's tip, went to the business and stopped Antonio Perez, 42, of Oakland, in the parking lot. During a search of his rental car, officers allegedly found fake driver licenses and military identification cards, along with drug paraphernalia, the Benicia Police Department said Sunday.

Perez's companion, Jhomyr Bautista, 43, of Daly City, was on searchable probation out of San Mateo County for fraud charges, and subsequently recovered during a probation search of the hotel room, additional counterfeit IDs, miscellaneous documents and false-identification-making materials, according to police.
