Call My Name by Amy Greene
Who is calling me by my sacred name,
Scattering it like bread for hungry birds?
Like careless laughter thrown into the wind
It filters down as colorless as rain,
Interfaces the heated current ‘round
The crystalline imago of this word;
Call out my name! The sound identifies
The elemental sister of my pain
Who manifests our secret mien once more
To subtle eyes and gleaming unsheathed swords.
Who with my name is summoning my soul?
Calling forth with each uttered syllable
The latent truth, the hidden paradox,
The paradigm of schisms and of scars?
It is with infant courage that I turn
Towards the sound. The moment of this birth
Is a subtly mirrored epiphany
Reflected in those kind and careful eyes.
I discover, with a voice I thought had died,
I am calling you by your sacred name.
