Benicia Memorial Day Events

Please join us for an incredible day of remembrance and dedication to service members and civilians that dedicated their lives to serving our great nation.  Memorial Day this year will be celebrated on Monday, May 25, 2015.

The crowning jewel of the day is the Memorial Day ceremony at the Benicia Arsenal Historic Cemetery, presented by the Benicia Historical Society.  We also have beautiful music performed by the Diablo Regional Concert Band.  The event starts at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 25, 2015 but you’ll want to get there much earlier due to a very unique access and parking situation.  Feel free to contact any of the sponsors for more information.

The day has many events for everyone to participate and enjoy:

1. 7:30 AM  Raise the flags at the Benicia Veterans Memorial Hall
2. 8:00 AM  Raise the garrison flag at the Benicia Arsenal Historic Cemetery (we need as much help as we can get on this!)
3. ~8:20 AM  Place flags and flowers on the graves at the Benicia Arsenal Historic Cemetery
4. 10:00 AM  Memorial Day Ceremony at the Benicia Arsenal Historic Cemetery presented by the Benicia Historical Society.
5. 12:00 PM  Barbecue and fun at the Benicia Veterans Memorial Hall - ALL ARE WELCOME!
6. 4:00 PM  Lower the flags at the Benicia Veterans Memorial Hall
7. 4:30 PM  Lower the garrison flag at the Benicia Arsenal Historic Cemetery (again, we need all the help we can get with this incredibly large flag!)
8. ~All Day and into the night: Remembrance, recognition, food, and fun at the Benicia Veteran’s Memorial Hall!  ALL ARE WELCOME; PLEASE JOIN US!
