Benicia Police Arrest 2 Martinez Men In Storage Unit Burglaries

Benicia police said the men were caught with items taken in the burglary of at least six self-storage units.

BENICIA, CA — Benicia police arrested two Martinez men this week on suspicion of breaking into multiple storage units, police said on social media. About six to 10 units appeared to have been broken into over the weekend at a self-storage facility on Park Road, according to police.

On Monday, an officer was on scene talking to one of the burglary victims when he spotted a man in a field behind the storage facility, loading numerous items into a cart, police said.

Officers went to the field where they made contact with two men, identified as Martinez residents Vincent Deljado, 30, and Theodore Hawn, 53.

Delgado and Hawn allegedly had numerous items laid out in the field, including a generator, camping gear and electronics.

According to police, one of the victims turned up at the scene and positively identified several of the stolen items as belonging to him.

Delgado and Hawn were booked into Solano County jail on suspicion of numerous charges including burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, vandalism, probation violation and possession of nunchucks, according to Benicia PD records.

The incident was first reported at 8:39 a.m. Monday on Park Road, the location of CubeSmart Self Storage, according to Benicia PD records.
