Hundreds of runners from Benicia and beyond came Sunday to the at the end of First Street for the . Seasoned runners stretched on their own while others joined in a group warmup to shake off the morning chill.
At 8 a.m. the 10K Runners lined up near the Tannery Building to start their race. Just 20 minutes later, the 5K runners started from the same place. The 10K race went up First Street, down West K to and turned around to head back to the Marina Green. The 10K racers joined the 5K participants at Ninth Street and proceeded down West I, back to First Street and the finish.
Runners milled around after the race collecting water, fruit and high-protein snacks while local Rap group Infamous ENT performed songs from its CD. Master of Ceremonies Tim Hoyle reminded participants to enter drawings, including one for an iPad provided by Benicia Patch.com, a race sponsor.

At 10 a.m., eager students lined up for the one-mile fun run.
Winners for the 5K Race were Brian Collett took the men's division for the 5K with a 17:05 finish; Melanie Voss won in the women's division with 20:59.

The 10K winners were Noah Morrison in the men's division, 34:24; and Jessica Forsight in the women's division with 43:00.
