BHS Band Hosting 30 NorCal Schools for a Marathon of Drums and Flags

The Benicia High School band program presents an all-day event to showcase the different side of a high school band.

On Friday, March 22, Benicia High School will be an active and lively site, while the sounds of percussion will be threaded throughout the entire campus.

The Panther Band will be hosting the 10th annual “Benicia Bay Winter Review,” which will showcase the Winter Guard programs (Color Guard and percussion) of middle and high school performing groups from all over northern California. More than 30 groups are expected to compete, including Benicia Middle School's drumline and Color Guard at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. The Panther Band Color Guard and drumline will perform in exhibition after 9:30 p.m.

The community is welcome and encouraged to attend this family-friendly event, packed with routines every 10 minutes in the high school gym (1101 Military West), starting around 4:30 p.m. There will be plenty of performances with interesting themes, which range from the beauty and grace of Color Guard, to the machine-crazed engine of drumline.

This is not the typical concert or marching competition one usually sees from a high school band, so be prepared for yet another way to appreciate music. All proceeds benefit the BHS award winning music program.  For more information, http://www.pantherbandboosters.com/bbwr
