BHS Panther Band and Color Guard Win First Place in Fleet Week Band Challenge

The Benicia High School Panther Band and Color Guard won first place in the 2014 Fleet Week Band Challenge in San Francisco on October 13, 2014 and came home with a check for $10,000. Eight bands from around the Bay Area participated in the competition which was held in Golden Gate Park.

Benicia High has competed in the Fleet Week Band Challenge in 2010, 2011, and 2012. (No band competition was held in 2013.) With the 2014 win, Benicia has placed first three out of the four years it has participated.

Ten Benicia band members also had the privilege of playing Stars and Stripes Forever with the Marine Corp Band.
