BHS Panther Band and Color Guard Take Second Place in Fleet Week Band Challenge
Benicia High School Panther Band competed for fifth time in Fleet Week Competition.
The Benicia High School Panther Band and Color Guard won second place in the 2015 Fleet Week Band Challenge in San Francisco on October 12, 2015 and came home with a check for $6,000. Eight bands from around the Bay Area participated in the competition which was held in Golden Gate Park.
Benicia High has competed in the Fleet Week Band Challenge in 2010, 2011, 2012, and in 2014. (No band competition was held in 2013.) Benicia has placed first three out of the five years it has participated.
Ten Benicia band members also had the privilege of playing Stars and Stripes Forever with the Marine Corp Band.
