BHS Spring Dance Show - April 16, 17 & 18

Benicia High School’s (BHS) Spring 2015 dance show, Good Night, Don’t Let the Bed Bugs Bite, will showcase the talents and diverse stylings of its dance students. The production offers a wonderful family-friendly event.

The spring dance show begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 16, with two more evening performances at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 17 and 18. All performances take place at the school’s Performing Arts Building, 1101 Military West in Benicia. Admission is $8 for high school and college students with identification and $14 for general admission. A $2 discount is available for all tickets purchased online through Benicia High School’s website: www.beniciahighperformingarts.org .

The show theme has a distinctive perspective about the fears of the unknowns in life - and how we can overcome them.

“Our students work very hard both in school with the Beginning, Intermediate and Advance dance classes and out with additional practice and study throughout the year – this show gives us a chance to enjoy their wonderful skills,” said BHS Dance teacher, Christine Mani.

The dance show provides a storyline that will showcase a full spectrum of dance styles from modern to ballet to jazz to hip hop. Some dances have been choreographed by alumni of the dance program and local choreographers who are continuing to build their talents at university and professionally. Current students also put in a competing bid to have their choreography presented in the show.
