BHS Students Participate in 20th All Northern California Honor Band

Thirteen Benicia High School students participated in the Twentieth Annual All Northern California Honor Band January 15-17th in Stockton, California. The band’s rehearsals culminated in a concert on Sunday, January 17th at San Joaquin Delta College, Stockton, California. Dr. Joan de Albequerque was the guest conductor for the high school honor band. The band performed four pieces: Portrait of Freedom, Swing Low Sweet Chariot, The Redwoods, and Furioso. Furioso by Gary P. Gilroy was commissioned by the Northern California Band Association for the 20th All Northern High School Honor Band; this was its premier performance. Participation in the band is by audition only.
