Blaze In Vallejo Destroys Carport, Shed
A fire destroyed a shed and carport just west of Interstate Highway 80 in Vallejo Tuesday morning, a fire spokesman said.

VALLEJO - A fire destroyed a shed and carport just west of Interstate Highway 80 in Vallejo Tuesday morning, a fire spokesman said.
The blaze was reported at 11:05 a.m. on Wallace Avenue near Lincoln Road West and was knocked down by 11:33 a.m.
The main portion of the structure sustained minimal exterior damage but the rest of the structure was a total loss, Vallejo Fire Department spokesman Anthony Shair-Ali said.
Firefighters are unsure what was in the shed and carport, Shair-Ali said.

Damage caused by the fire, which appears to have started in a corner outside the shed, is estimated at $60,000.
Downed power lines created an additional hazard of fighting the blaze, Vallejo fire officials said on Twitter.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but it might have been started accidentally by a cigarette, Shair-Ali said.
Trees near the structure also caught fire.
