Body Dumped By Garbage Truck, Dixon Police Investigating
A review of the truck's route indicated the body was most likely from the City of Dixon service area, police said.
SOLANO AND YOLO COUNTIES, CA — A body discovered when it was dumped from a garbage truck Tuesday at a Yolo County landfill appears to have been picked up from a dumpster in Dixon, police said.
The death is believed to be accidental, Dixon police said in a news release.
"Preliminary investigation indicates the victim climbed into the dumpster about an hour before the trash pickup occurred and was inside when the contents of the dumpster were collected by the truck," police said.

The Dixon Police Department received a call about the body Tuesday from police in the neighboring city of Davis.
A waste disposal service reported to Davis police that personnel assigned to one of its garbage trucks found the body when it unloaded the truck at a trash dump in Yolo County.

Dixon police detectives responded to the dump along with the Yolo County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office.
"Dixon Police are continuing to investigate and believe the death to be accidental," police said in the news release. "A medical examination will be conducted by Yolo County."
