Are you an avocado lover? Are you a chocolate lover?
I am about to test my raw cacao avocado pudding recipe on some friends. Are they truly avocado lovers and chocolate lovers as they claim they are? We will see.
I am about to put some friends to the test.
I have a recipe that I used to use in my chocolate making workshops. The last time I led a chocolate making class, I shared three recipes and made two of them, leaving the avocado pudding recipe as part of the class notes, but not actually making it for the class. Once I went through my demonstrations, I gave the students a chance to make the recipe that appealed to them. I did bring the ingredients for the pudding just in case someone wanted to make it their project: avocado, cacao powder, agave nectar and/or stevia, vanilla extract (or cayenne), and sea salt. I think the cayenne is a splendid and intelligent spice to pair with the cacao; after all, cacao and cayenne have been married since before the Aztecs. They are truly the longest known married couple that I can think of. As soon as the avocados I have ripen, I am going to make my raw cacao, dairy free, avocado pudding for some friends and have them try it in front of me. I will let the flavors settle in a bit, mingle a while, so they can create some harmony and really impress. I wonder what the outcome will be. I may forego the cayenne since I’ve had people respond less than stellar to it. I haven't decided whether to use it or the vanilla for my friends. Are they true avocado and chocolate lovers? It will be fun to see their response, and it will be delightful to have some for myself.
