Raise your hand if you know what the BEF is? What about the Benicia Education Foundation? Anyone… maybe a handful?
Well, the Benicia Education Foundation (BEF) has been invited to join Local Voices on Benicia Patch and, now stay with me please - I’ll make this part short - the mission of the BEF is: To raise funds, gather resources and act as a catalyst to involve the community in supporting public education for the children of Benicia.

Okay, here is the fun part: is going on right now! Twenty local artists (students & adults) have given their time and immense talent to create 20 of the most fantastic pigs you have ever seen. These pigs are scattered around town; local pubs, doctors offices, restaurants and ice cream parlors (a complete list can be found on the BEF website: scroll to the bottom of the page). The pigs were created to raise awareness as well as bring together the community in support of Benicia schools. We hope that people take advantage of the great weather and tour Benicia, find the pigpens and "root" for their favorite pig! Last night at dinner I saw one from last year at .
Pictures of all the pigs can be found on our Facebook page, as well as pictures of some of the children who have found the pigs. We would love to see more so “tag” us in your piggy pictures or email photos to info@beniciaeducationfoundation.org and we will post them on our Facebook page.
